Nero d'Altura Nero d'Avola of Tenute Lombardo is obtained only with Nero d'Avola grapes that grows in the upland in the heart of Sicily. It is a Sicilia DOC, with deep red colour with hints of violet and with a cherry scents. Its velvety taste cuddles the palate.

Terroir and vinification

Nero d’Altura is made by Nero d'Avola grapes only, hand-picked in the first days of October. The vines are planted in Caltanissetta's area, 580 meters a.s.l. in a clayey soil. Vinification takes place in steel tanks at the controlled temperature 25°C 8-10 days long. The refinement happens in steel tanks as well, at the temperature 15°C. The following 12 months the wine refines in fourth passage wooden barriques. In the end, the wine is bottled at the temperature 16°C.

Tasting notes

Nero d’Altura by Tenute Lombardo shows the typical intense red colour from Nero d'Avola, enriched with purple hues. The fragrance reminds of red fruits and spices. On the palate expresses a balanced fullness along with its character strongly velvety.
