Terroir and wine making

SP68 Bianco is the result of the best selection of Moscato di Alessandria and Albanello grapes grown at 280 meters above sea level, in the territory of Vittoria, a Sicilian town renowned for its excellent wine production. Arianna Occhipinti totally embraces the principles of organic farming: every process necessary to produce its wines is carried out in complete respect of nature and its balance: organic growth of plants, no pesticide or chemical fertilizer, use of green manure in the vineyard, spontaneous fermentation on the skins and use of indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged 6 months in cement tanks and 1 month in bottle without any filtering.

Taste notes

Straw yellow in color, the SP68 Bianco di Arianna Occhipinti is immediately appreciated for its Mediterranean hints of thyme, rosemary, orange, honey and almond. The palate is firm, enveloping and soft. It is characterized by freshness and acidity. The finish is still reminiscent of almond.

Wine at the table

SP68 Bianco is a wine so pleasant to drink that it can be enjoyed every day. It is excellent as an aperitif or together with appetizers and fish.

Curiosity

SP68 is the name of an ancient road still existing that connects Vittoria to Quaglio, towards the southern coast of Sicily. It was travelled by farmers to carry the fruits of their labour. Arianna Occhipinti wanted to pay homage to a piece of history of her land.
