Terroir and wine making

Ramione Baglio di Pianetto is a balanced and soft red wine, harmoniously recalling the many characteristics of the meeting between France (Merlot) and Sicily (Nero d'Avola), in a single glass. The grapes are harvested, between August and September, manually in crates and then cooled and gently pressed. The traditional techniques of fulling and pumping over at a controlled temperature pave the way for a 12-month aging in French oak barrels, followed by a final rest in the bottle for at least 24 months.

Taste notes

Baglio di Pianetto red has an intense ruby color and an aroma full of aromas of dark berries, vanilla and licorice. On the palate the structure is good, a soft and charming entrance with a persistent finish.

Wine at the table

The Ramione is a strong red wine to match with dishes such as stuffed pasta and roast game.

Curiosity

The Ramione wine is a tribute to the previous owner of the estate, Baron Antonio Palizzolo di Ramione, who started the cultivation of vines in these territories.
