Terroir and wine making

The Nero di Lupo Cos was born in south-eastern Sicily, more precisely in the area of Vittoria, renowned for the excellent quality of wine production. The vineyards of Nero d'Avola grow at 250 meters above sea level on medium consistency soils composed of sub-Apennine sands of Pliocene origin and limestone. The grapes harvested by hand ferment spontaneously on the skins in the presence of indigenous yeasts. The aging takes place in cement tanks and then in bottles. The winery strictly applies the principles of organic cultivation that enhance the natural qualities of grapes.

Taste notes

In the glass Nero d'Avola Nero di Lupo lets you contemplate its ruby red color, before conquering the nose with Mediterranean aromas among which plum, blackberry, vanilla and black pepper stand out. On the palate it is enveloping and elegant, with a tannic texture not at all tiring and with an excellent persistence.

Wine at the table

The Nero di Lupo Cos is the ideal wine to enjoy in a dinner with friends based on lamb. It is a wine with a whole meal that can be easily combined with different dishes.

Curiosity

The Nero di Lupo is the result of the passion and commitment of three friends who, in 1980, founded the winery Cos, whose name represents the acronym of the three respective surnames.
