The wine Alastro Menfi DOC combines Sicilian grapes and Sauvignon blanc grapes in a pleasantly aromatic sip. Planeta offers a structured white wine that tastes of fresh citrus, white flowers and tropical fruits. With its qualities, it is able to enhance all the vegetarian cuisine and the first with a Mediterranean flavor.

Terrorism and wine-making

A Menfi DOC that reminds the mind of fresh and summer sensations. It is a blend of white grapes that sees among the protagonists the Grecanico, a grape variety spread between the provinces of Agrigento and Trapani, and in this case, in the beautiful Sambuca di Sicilia. The grapes grow between different vines that are located at a height of between 75 and 250 meters above sea level with a Guyot system and cordon speronato. From the harvest of mid-September, the production process begins which involves soft de-racking, fermentation at 15 °C with selected yeasts, aging for six months in steel tanks with suspended lees.

Notes of taste

In the bottle of Alastro, a straw yellow is immediately apparent, a foreboding of freshness and smoothness. The nose opens the curtain of the show and all the typical scents of white Sicilian grapes appear: cedar, yellow flowers, tropical fruits and peach. In the mouth, the multifaceted side of the white from Planeta emerges thanks to its creaminess and clear notes of white melon.

Wine at the table

The combination of sweetness and savoury makes it an ideal companion for simple dishes such as aperitifs and salads, but also for more complex courses such as vegetable risotto or Asian specialties.

Curiosity

The name of the wine signed Planeta comes from the wild flower "alastro" that grows near the Arancio lake. The Sicilian winery has dedicated its wine to a beautiful plant that in spring blossoms with its yellow flowers.
