Terroir and wine-making

The Syrah has its roots in the deep soil, a mixture of limestone and chalk, which characterizes the four hectares of Baglio del Cristo di Campobello, in the agro agrigento. The vines are grown on a hilly hill between 230 and 270 metres above sea level. Every year, the winery collects the fruits of its work by hand and stores them in small boxes, ready for further selection, after which the grapes are destemmed. The soft pressing and continuous reassembling allow to extract the substances contained in the skins. The 18 days of temperature-controlled maceration are followed by 14 months of ageing in French oak barrels and at least 12 months in bottle. The Lusirà is, so, ready to be enjoyed.

Notes of taste

The Lusirà Baglio del Cristo by Campobello presents itself in all its elegance. Among its intense and complex aromas, red fruit jam flavors emerge, spicy and vanilla notes, balanced by a delicate tannin. A fine and enveloping wine, which is immediately appreciated for its remarkable taste.

Wine at the table

With its body and incisiveness, the Lusirà is suitable to accompany tasty dishes such as pasta with meat sauce, roasted or grilled meat seconds, game dishes and aged cheeses.

Curiosity

Lusirà in Sicilian dialect means 'Il Syrah', a name that Baglio del Cristo di Campobello has chosen for his wine, with the intention of highlighting its importance and relevance among the various products obtained from the famous red berried grape.
