Terroir and wine-making

Chiaramonte Inzolia is considered one of the best pure interpretations of the Inzolia grape, always protagonist of Sicilian enology. The Firriato winery produces Inzolia grapes in the fertile lands of Dàgala Borromeo, in the agro trapanese area, where the terroir and microclimate enhance surprisingly the intrinsic characteristics of the vine.

Here, at 90 meters above sea level, the soil and climate conditions characterized by very fertile soils, deep and well structured, and by strong excursions between day and night are ideal to give wine its fresh and aromatic nature. The vinification and ageing carried out with modern and non-invasive techniques complete the process of exaltation and aromatization of the final product.

Notes of taste

At first sight the Chiaramonte Inzolia of Firriato shows a brilliant straw yellow colour, so nuanced that it appears almost greenish. The scent is also delicate and reminiscent of exotic fruits, especially pineapple, mango and papaya, but also almond, lime, wisteria, iris and acacia; all mixed with notes of Mediterranean herbs. Finally, it definitely conquers with its surprising freshness on the palate that makes it very pleasant to drink. In the end, it closes with a beautiful almonds and marine flavors.

Inzolia Chiaramonte from Firriato is a full-time wine, ideal companion in convivial occasions with excellent fresh fish.

Curiosity

The inzolia, a grape variety with which Firriato produces Chiaramonte, is also known as Ansonica and Insolia. It is the oldest native vine of Sicily and is characterized by large clusters with rather sparse berries.
