Terroir and wine making
The Brunello di Montalcino of the Castello Romitorio winery was born in the heart of Montalcino, in the province of Siena, from Sangiovese vines arranged on hilly lands that enjoy perfect geological structure and microclimate. The result is grapes of rare quality to which the winemakers reserve all possible delicacies: the harvest is strictly by hand. Then the wine is aged for about 5 years. The maceration and aging processes take place in contexts of undisputed charm, between oak barrels and works of art stored in the cellars of the Romitorio Castle.
Taste notes
Brunello di Montalcino di Castello Romitorio has a fresh and very pleasant bouquet, with hints of red fruits and spicy notes of vanilla, cloves and licorice. It keeps the same pleasantness in the mouth where it is persistent and balanced in acidity.
Wine at the table
Brunello di Montalcino Castello Romitorio is an excellent meditation wine. At the table, on the other hand, it goes well with red meat or game, also paired with mushrooms, and aged cheeses.
Curiosity
The winery where this Brunello di Montalcino, Castello Romitorio, was born, takes its name from a fortress dating back to the twelfth century that stands in a fantastic setting on the hill of Montalcino
