Terroir and wine-making

The Baglio Sorìa estate owned by Firriato is located in a hilly area of the province of Trapani. The 110 hectares of vineyards are located at an altitude ranging between 230 and 250 meters above sea level, on a calcareous-clay soil. In this terroir, the grapes of the autochthonous Catarratto and the international Chardonnay grape find pedoclimatic conditions that allow to express their best potentialities. A short fermentation period contributes to the delicate organoleptic notes of Santagostino Bianco. The 4 months of aging in steel make the wine slightly different in each year.

Notes of taste

The Santagostino Baglio Sorìa Bianco has a straw yellow color tending to golden. Its scent is fresh and varied: full-bodied Catarratto, fruity and exotic Chardonnay. Let you feel the scents of peach, melon and pineapple accompanied by white flowers, vanilla, hazelnut and almond. On the palate it is complex, structured and with a good acidity. Excellent persistence.

The Santagostino Bianco by Firriato is the ideal wine to accompany a dinner of fish and crustaceans, from appetizer to second. Enhances the combinations with Sicilian cous cous and with medium-aged cheeses.
