Terrorism and wine-making
The SurSur Donnafugata is born in the estate of Countess Entellina, between Marsala and Salemi, in Western Sicily. The Grillo grape is harvested at an altitude ranging between 200 and 400 meters above sea level; the soil is mainly calcareous-clayey, with numerous nutrients. Harvested in the third decade of August, the Grillo grape is fermented in steel tanks at a temperature of 14-16 °C, with two months of aging and three months of resting in the bottle.
Notes of taste
Donnafugata white wine presents a bright straw yellow and an aromatic bouquet of young white fruit, mint and wild flowers. On the palate, the Sicilian wine is soft, pleasantly fresh and with a finish that resumes the olfactory notes: fruity and delicate accents.
Wine at the table
If you want to surprise at the table with a bottle of SurSur, the ideal combination is with gourmet dishes and vegetarian dishes, but also with grilled meat and fresh cheeses. To be served at a temperature not exceeding 11 °C.
Curiosity
The name of the wine Donnafugata comes from a small lucky animal, the cricket, which translates as "sur sur". The wine label reproduces the young Gabriella (founder of the winery Donnafugata) who runs among the grass, surrounded by nature and the thrills of crickets.
