Terroir and wine-making

In the terroir of the agro of Caltanissetta, at 580 meters above sea level, the Nero d'Avola, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes grow luxuriant and combine to create a remarkable and tasty wine like the Unànime Rosso.

Every year in the first ten days of October, the winemakers of Tenute Lombardo harvest the grapes strictly by hand before taking them to the cellar. This is where the vinification process begins with maceration in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25 o C. After a period of storage, the wine is bottled ready to be tasted in all its organoleptic notes.

Notes of taste

The intense red colour of Unànime Tenute Lombardo reveals its strong character. The aroma is the intriguing balance between the herbaceous notes typical of Cabernet Sauvignon and the fruity and spicy notes of Nero d'Avola and Syrah. On the palate it confirms its characteristic notes and reveals a full and intense balance.

Wine at the table

A wine as rich in taste as the Unànime Rosso prefers the company of robust dishes such as red meat seconds or aged cheeses.

Curiosity

Together with the Unànime Rosso, the white wine of the same name from the Tenute Lombardo embodies the essence of the fruits of the Sicilian terroir, grapes from vines particularly suitable to give back in the glass flavors and natural richness of a territory particularly favorable for wine production.
