Terroir and wine-making
The white Sicilia DOC Damarino Donnafugata is obtained with the fruits of the autochthonous vine Ansonica in blend with other typical Sicilian vines. The vineyards grow in the Estate of Contessa Entellina, in south-western Sicily. The fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature of 14-16°C is followed by two months of ageing in tanks and two months in bottles.
Notes of taste
The Damarino Ansonica is a light and informal white that presents itself in a clear straw yellow color. The nose gives pleasant sensations of green apple and citrus. On the palate lies with sweet vivacity towards a soft finish.
Wine at the table
Excellent as a glass for aperitif, this white Donnafugata especially enhances fish dishes and other recipes with a delicate taste. The optimum service temperature is 9-11°C.
Curiosity
Like the other original labels of Donnafugata, the bottle of Damarino is dressed in the original design of a woman colorful and winky, which evokes the characteristics of wine, lively and pleasant.
