Terroir and wine-making

The estate of Baglio Sorìa is located in the extreme west of Sicily, where the hills of the agro trapanese lean towards the sea. The mineral and clay soils host the vineyards of Frappato that welcome with natural vocation the qualities of the terroir to return them in characteristic hints and distinct from wines of the same type made in other areas of the island. The grapes reach perfect ripeness usually during the second decade of September; transported in the cellar, They begin a traditional vinification process with maceration on the skins that is completed by the aging in stainless steel that defines its organoleptic structure.

Notes of taste

Firriato’s Sorìa Frappato has a ruby red color with violet hues. The bouquet combines red berries and spices, black pepper, licorice and cloves. Wide and balanced on the palate, it releases pleasant hints of blackberries and red oranges.

Wine at the table

The Frappato Sicilia DOC from Firriato goes well with first courses with porcini mushrooms, delicate dishes based on white meat or tasty fish preparations.

Curiosity

Sorìa Frappato is also among the award-winning wines of the Firriato winery: it was awarded '91 points' by James Suckling and '89 points' by Wine Enthusiast.
