Terroir and wine-making
The SP68 Bianco is the result of the best selection of Moscato di Alessandria and Albanello grapes grown at 280 meters above sea level, in the territory of Vittoria, a Sicilian town renowned for its excellent wine production. Arianna Occhipinti totally embraces the principles of organic farming: every process necessary to produce its wines is carried out in complete respect for nature and its balance: organic plant growth, no pesticides or chemical fertilizers, Use of overshoots in the vineyard, spontaneous fermentation on the skins and use of indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged 6 months in cement tanks and 1 month in bottle without any filtering.
Notes of taste
Straw yellow, the SP68 Bianco by Arianna Occhipinti is immediately appreciated for its Mediterranean aromas of thyme, rosemary, orange, honey and almond. On the palate it is firm, enveloping and soft. It is characterized by freshness and acidity. The finish still reminds of almond.
Wine at the table
SP68 White is a wine so pleasant to drink that it can be enjoyed every day. It is great as an aperitif or with appetizers and fish seconds.
Curiosity
SP68 is the name of an ancient road still existing that connects Vittoria to Quaglio, towards the south coast of Sicily. It was used by farmers to carry the fruits of their labor. Arianna Occhipinti wanted to pay tribute to a piece of history of her land.
