Terroir and wine-making
From the best selection of Inzolia IGT grapes, a great Sicilian white wine is born, the Colomba Platino Duca di Salaparuta, which tells with a unique taste the qualities of one of the typical vines of Sicily. The vines overlook the warm African sea, between the lands of Ribera and Cattolica, in the province of Agrigento.
On the white limestone soil, the Inzolia grapes grow until they are ripe, when the winemakers of the cellar collect them to proceed to vinification in purity. The pressing of the berries is soft and involves the use of only flower must. The entire production process of Colomba Platino takes place at a controlled temperature in order to maintain the natural aromas of the Inzolia grape.
Notes of taste
Elegant in a bright straw yellow color enriched with greenish reflections, the Colomba Platino Duca di Salaparuta has an intense and fruity aroma that anticipates the harmonious and persistent taste on the palate. An intense and fresh Inzolia wine that is appreciated at first taste.
Wine at the table
Like any good white wine from Sicily, the Colomba Platino goes well with shellfish dishes, seafood and fish dishes in general. It expresses itself at its best when served at a temperature of 10-12°C.
Curiosity
Inzolia Colomba Platino Duca di Salaparuta is well known among lovers of white wine from Sicily: it is a classic of the island’s enology, where it has been appreciated for its refinement and elegance and for its safe and decisive character.
