Terroir and vinification
The Adènzia Rosso from the Baglio del Cristo winery in Campobello is a wine made with Nero d'Avola and Syrah grapes grown in the vineyards of Agrigento, in a unique organism of ten micro-areas. The vines grow on a medium-sized, deep and mainly calcareous soil located in the hills at an altitude ranging between 230 and 260 meters above sea level. The grapes are all harvested by hand in small boxes. The vinification of Adènzia Rosso follows the traditional method in red with maceration on the skins for 15-20 days at controlled temperature. After twelve months in large French oak barrels, the wine is aged in bottle for at least thirteen months.
Taste notes
The notes of black cherry and berries blend with the delicious hints of vanilla. Adènzia Rosso di Baglio Cristo di Campobello is enveloping and spicy, with strong but graceful tannins.
Wine at the table
Red Wine goes well with white meat, red meat and cheese dishes. It should be served at a temperature between 18° and 20°.
Curiosity
The name of the wine comes from the Sicilian word "adènzia": "give adènzia" means to pay special attention, go deep. Campobello’s Baglio del Cristo chose to name the wine in this way to underline the added value that comes from the union of the two grape varieties.
