Terroir and wine-making
In the vineyards of Pettineo are produced the grapes of Nero d'Avola and Frappato used in the organic production of Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG. The winegrowers select every year, strictly by hand, the best bunches that grow on the vines grown in the red sands of Vittoria, 170 meters above sea level.
The maceration with the marc has an average duration of 15 days and is followed by a temperature-controlled fermentation. After 9 months in steel and 9 months in bottle, the Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico Vigna of Pettineo is ready to delight the finest palates.
Notes of taste
The cherry red color that Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico presents in the glass anticipates the inviting hints of red berry fruit that make up its pleasant bouquet. On the palate it is full, soft and with a persistent finish.
Wine at the table
At the table, Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico Vigna di Pettineo prefers to be paired with meat roasts, cheeses and tasty stews. Its ideal temperature for use is 16-18°C.
Curiosity
The Pettineo vineyard is not only a winery, it is an organic project aimed at producing wine in full respect of nature. For this the winery uses some particular practices such as grassing, the use of charcoal, the reuse of rainwater and the production of electricity from renewable sources.
