Terroir and wine making

The Nero d'Avola, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc grapes used to produce the wine La Segreta Il Rosso di Planeta are grown in the Ulmo vineyard, located in the territory of Melfi, in the province of Agrigento. Here the vines are raised with spurred and Guyot cordon system. The vinification involves a phase of destemming followed by 7-14 days of residence on the skins at a controlled temperature of 25 ºC, followed by aging in steel.

Taste notes

The wine La Segreta Il Rosso has an intense and vivid ruby color. The nose gives off pleasant aromas of currant and mulberry that on the finish are more subdued taking spicy and mentholated tones. On the palate reveals its beautiful personality with hints of ripe berries and herbaceous.

Wine at the table

The versatility and drinkability of La Segreta Il Rosso wine make it suitable for various occasions of consumption. It goes well with several Mediterranean first courses, but also with meat, vegetables or fish.

Curiosity

The wine La Segreta Il Rosso di Planeta takes its name from the wood that surrounds its vineyards. The first bottle was produced in 1995.
